Rose Revived

Day 11. Sunday, July 27.

2.56 Miles. 6,154 Steps. Zero hours real walking.

New Inn, Lechlade to Rose Revived, New Bridge.

Slept 10 hours straight through!

The Rose Revived was originally a sixteenth century coaching inn. Located directly on the banks of the Thames River.

Rose Revived

Outside Patio on banks of Thames.

Decided to Not walk today as the knees (Plural) have been taking a beating and everything generally hurts. Plus the body is tired.

Checked on a possible bus transport and there was one. Went to locate where to catch the bus, right outside New Inn, but realized there was no service on Sunday, which is when it was needed.

Manager was very helpful and arranged a driver for this tired hiker, for a fee. Well worth it!

Driver Mike a Midsomer Murders fan.

Driver arrived at 10. Half hour later arrived at destination. Beautiful location to spend 3.5 hours observing river life under 5 large weeping willows.

Willows where I spent time relaxing.

Met Linda and Greg who live nearby in this small village which only has the two pubs, I am staying at one and the other is across the Thames.

I asked about murders, but sadly/fortunately there have been none. If there could have been one, it was at a village meeting where there was disagreement. The couple both love watching Midsomer Murders.

Became director of tight parking spaces. Assisted 2 elderly women trying to park in a tight place. They had been making numerous attempts with no progress. Reminds me of when Susan and Henry assisted this person to park on their narrow street in Philly.

Mr and Mrs Swan

Not sure if it is my phone’s battery or the charger connection. Trying to secure it better to the outlet. Possibly in Oxford the connector can be replaced.

Fancy coffee maker.

Hand battered Cod with chips. Only I selected no chips, but rather a seasonal side salad, and garden peas rather than mushy peas. Thumbs Up. Scale of 1-10 a definite 10!

Fish dinner consumed!

Ready to return to hiking tomorrow.
